British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world shared its support for the star in the following the devastating accident.
