The area has been described as an "ecological disaster".
Journalist inspected the scene and reported the heap appeared to be "six meters tall at least".

Fly-tippers have dumped a massive amount of garbage in a open space in Oxfordshire.

The "ecological disaster occurring in public view" is around 150m (490ft) extending and 6m (20ft) high.

The huge mound has materialized in a field next to the River Cherwell near Kidlington.

Elected official raised the situation in parliament, stating it was "threatening an environmental disaster".

Conservation group said the unauthorized rubbish dump was established around a recently by an criminal network.

"This represents an ecological disaster developing in full view.

"Every day that elapses elevates the risk of poisonous drainage entering the river system, polluting animals and endangering the condition of the complete river basin.

"The Environment Agency must take action now, not in the distant future, which is their usual response period."

Access ban had been established by the Environment Agency.

It is hard to distinguish any particular bits of waste as it looks to have been broken up with earth mixed in.

A portion of the garbage from the peak of the heap has fallen and is now just five metres from the waterway.

The River Cherwell is a branch of the River Thames, which indicates it travels through Oxford before meeting the Thames.

The MP mentioned the cost of clearing the rubbish would be substantial

The representative petitioned the authorities for help to eliminate the illegal site before it caused a blaze or was carried into the aquatic system.

Speaking to MPs on this week, he declared: "Illegal operators have deposited a huge quantity of illegal synthetic materials... amounting to hundreds of tonnes, in my electoral area on a water-adjacent land adjacent to the River Cherwell.

"Water heights are growing and thermal imaging indicate that the garbage is also warming, elevating the danger of fire.

"Regulatory body reported it has restricted resources for regulation, that the anticipated price of clearance is higher than the entire yearly allocation of the municipal authority."

Environment minister stated the administration had assumed responsibility for a failing waste industry that had resulted in an "growing issue of illegal dumping".

She told MPs the agency had implemented a prohibition notice to prevent more admission to the location.

In a statement, the organization confirmed it was looking into the incident and asked for evidence.

It stated: "We acknowledge the community's frustration about situations like this, which is why we take action against those culpable for environmental offenses."

A recently published report determined initiatives to combat major waste crime have been "critically overlooked" despite the problem developing into bigger and more complex.

A parliamentary committee recommended an independent "root and branch" inquiry into how "endemic" waste crime is dealt with.
